Ubik Movie

Ubik MoviePhilip K. Dick provided Hollywood with a real bonanza of ideas for its movies. Blade Runner, Minority Report, A.I., Total Recall, The Adjustment Bureau: they're all based on novels by the famous sci-fi author. Well, it sounds like yet another of his novels is going to make it to the big screen: Director Michel Gondry revealed indeed that he's considering a movie adaptation of Ubik.

Plot:
"Glen Runciter is dead. Or is everybody else? Someone died in an explosion orchestrated by Runciter's business competitors. And, indeed, it's the kingly Runciter whose funeral is scheduled in Des Moines. But in the meantime, his mourning employees are receiving bewildering messages from their boss. And the world around them is warping in ways that suggest that their own time is running out. Or already has.
Fortunately salvation, or UBIK, is available in a convenient aerosol spray!"

A movie adaptation of Ubik, a really complex novel, will be not easy feat. But Michel Gondry is a talented director and does have experience with this kind of twisted story thanks to two previous movies, The Science of Sleep and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. So I think Ubik will be a hit.

Anyway, more details about the movie Ubik soon!
